Educational Consulting - Blue Sky Children's Services
There is a growing awareness that a child's educational context has an impact on their present and future health. Our School Health Consulting Program is directed by Lakshmi Prasanna and works towards health promotion in Australian schools.
Since 2007 we have been working with school communities in Cairns, Noosa, Northern NSW, Melbourne, Adelaide, Alice Springs, Perth and New Zealand.
We work collaboratively with the students, teachers and parents of a school during an intensive 3 - 7 day period of observation and engagement. Students with learning disabilities are supported in a family centred, strengths based approach. We look to the environment rather than the child for the origins of issues which may be related to diet, allergies, parenting, sleep, or other medical or social determinants of health. We offer parent education as well as consultations with teaching staff and families to address the specific issues which come to light through this engagement process. Advice is offered to parents and children to address the underlying causes of the symptoms which may be presenting in the classroom.

Steiner Inspired Creche Workshops in Katherine Region, NT
We have provided a series of two week intensive workshops on child development and age appropriate curriculum activities to remote creches at Beswick, Jilkminggan and Manyallaluk Aboriginal communities - commenced in March 2015.
